Esta es la historia real de la célebre Elsa, la leona de dos mundos, la nacida libre -luego llevada al cine y distorsionada por series posteriores- desde que en 1956 George Adamson, por ese entonces Guardián de Caza en Kenya, la llevara a su hogar cuando era aún cachorra y tras verse obligado a matar a la madre de ésa y otras dos crías posteriormente enviadas a otros zoológicos. Joy Adamson, esposa de George, nos cuenta anécdotas de la crianza de Elsa, otras protagonizadas por la leona ya en estado de adultez y la dura lucha posterior por reintegrarla a la Naturaleza. ++++++++ The film 'Born Free' was based on the diary-like novel by Joy and George Adamson of their experiences raising lion cubs in Africa. Virginia McKenna and Bill Travers starred as the Adamson's in the movie and John Barry was hired as the films composer. Despite disagreeing with the films director about the style of music to be composed, Barry took his inspiration from the Walt Disney wildlife films of the 50's and 60's. The resulting composition won John Barry his first two Academy Awards for Best Song and Best Score. This video features the complete original motion picture soundtrack, including the beautiful theme song sung by Matt Monro. Also included are seven tracks from the re-recording of the Born Free soundtrack by Frederic Talgorn & The Royal Scottish National Orchestra* not included on the John Barry album.
